Ukulele for Guitar Players
String Muting
Middle Finger Muting
Middle Finger Muting is a first cousin of Pinky Muting. You stop the strings with the middle finger of your chord hand. Strings are fully muted for a fraction of a second between beats
I use this rarely but here's an example from So Lonely by The Police Watch my middle finger closely. Look for the red dot!
Suitable for all song styles, but only when your middle finger is free — typically when your pinky and index finger are both in use. The Csus4 chord is a good example. It's also useful when playing C Major with your pinky during a chord transition.
