Chord Transitions
"The G-String Slide"
“The G-String Slide” adds feeling and drama to certain chord transitions. It connects two chords by sliding from one fretted note on the Low G string into another.
Use it when consecutive chords both have notes fretted at different positions on the Low G and the same finger can slide between them. As you change chords, pluck the Low G before releasing the first shape. Keep your finger pressed on the string and slide it into position for the second chord. The result is a smooth, “trombone-like” effect that links chords rather than jumping between them.

You can slide in either direction. Sliding down the fretboard feels “weepy,” while sliding up builds tension.
